Are You Trying To Sell Your Home?

About Me
A Family Room Designed for Fun

In a few, short months, I’m building a family room onto my house. When the construction is complete, I’ll have both a formal living room and a casual family room. I want to make my family room a fun place for everyone to hang out in. I plan to buy a comfortable couch and a couple of oversized chairs to put in the room. My husband is also interested in mounting a large-screen television on the wall in this new space. One side of the room will be dedicated to exercise. I’ll be placing my treadmill, elliptical trainer, and stationary bike on this side of the room. To add interest to the space, I’m purchasing some whimsical wall hangings. On this blog, I hope you will discover some stress-free tips for designing a family room. Enjoy!

Are You Trying To Sell Your Home?

Do you have the opportunity to move to another city? Perhaps you have gotten a nice promotion that comes with a healthy raise. If so, you must be excited about starting life in a totally new area. On the other hand, maybe you are staying in your own city, but you are selling your house because it is now too large or too small.

Whatever the reason that you are trying to sell your house, that is probably on your mind a great part of the day, right? From getting the right realtor to arranging for home staging services, here are some ideas that might help you while you are trying to sell your house.

Get The Right Realtor - Think of finding a realtor who is totally focused on selling homes. For example, if you have a friend who just dabbles in real estate, that friend is more than likely not your best choice when it comes to getting your house sold. On the other hand, if you know of a realtor who depends on home sales in order to take care of his or her family, that individual will probably work extremely hard to make a sale.

Meet with the realtor and explain exactly what you need. For example, if you are building a new house, the realtor will probably want to know when your move-in date is. If you have to be in your new city by a certain date, the realtor will shoot for getting your house sold before that time so that you can proceed with your move.

Include Home Staging - Because you and your realtor are focused on selling your house, he or she might suggest that you use the services of a professional home stager. Think of this. When you enter your own home and you see perfect order, isn't that an inviting feeling? On the other hand, if you enter your home and there are toys everywhere you look, you might have the same great feelings.

A home stager will make sure that prospective buyers will have a great feeling right when they enter your home. Don't be offended if the home stager suggests the removal of family portraits, and don't feel bad if your favorite coffee table is literally removed from one of your rooms. In fact, frilly linens might even be taken out of your beautiful master bedroom and replaced with a more simple design of linens.

Besides things being removed, there might be decorative touches that will be added. For example, a small artificial palm tree next to a picture window might emphasize the beauty of that window. Trust the stager. He or she will have the training and the experience to make your house ready to be sold.
